First task in the class was to create an inspiration board to display vintage finds. So when I was in Paris I set to the task of finding a frame. At the flea market in North Paris there was this guy who had a frame shop, perfect. So I pointed at a couple of frames and asked how much €120 uh non c'est trop cher!!!! So I said €20 he was like ahhh! He took me round the shop and pointed out frames in my price range, even pulling out a freebie frame for me. He was a lovely lovely guy and in our muddled franglais he showed us how he restored frames using gold leaf and which frames were french and italian which were new and which were very very old tres interesting.
So in the end I picked this baby:
I never thought I would be down with gold but I love it and it blends in at home pretty well. I found some quilted fabric at John Lewis which I wrapped round some foam board and voila....my inspiration board!
The second task was to use a vintage milk cap which we had been sent in an "Inspiration pack" from JB studios in a layout. If you are familiar with my scrap style it is BRIGHT. So although I wanted to stay true to my style I also wanted to give it a vintage nod:
So I used a page from an old book and pearl brads from K&Co which I bought when I first started scrapping
Then I stamped on a luggage tag using a new Prima stamp and attached a mini key which was yet again another old old scrapbook supply.
I think it gives it a vintagey feel whilst being modern and that is good enough for me.
Over and out blog land.

Absouletly beautiful work my dear!! xxx
